Teacher Support
Since the school opened in 1995, Teachers were not being paid on time due to lack of funding. Since 2007, Safi support has guaranteed they are paid on time. Safi has and will continue to send teachers and support staff to continuing education.
The goal of the Safi School Project is to make a measurable difference in the education of children in Tanzania. We do this by creating model schools that consider the needs of the whole school, its students, its teachers, its volunteers and its infrastructure. Already, we are seeing results. Since we became involved, we have:
- Sponsored 280 students at Ngateu Secondary School.
- Guaranteed salaries and provided continuing education for teachers.
- Provided over $60,000 in financial aid to Ngateu.
- Sent many volunteers to implement Safi funded school improvement projects.
